Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said Saturday that the House Intel Committee will subpoena senior level FBI officials if necessary, according to The Daily Caller.
Jordan confirmed that committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-MA) said subpoenas aren’t out of the question.
Check it out:
Republicans are concerned about the participation of deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, attorney Lisa Page, former associate deputy attorney general Bruce Ohr and Ohr’s wife, Nellie, who may have been an employee of Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS is responsible for digging up political dirt on then-candidate Donald Trump.
“Chairman Goodlatte has told us he is going to subpoena those individuals,” said Jordan, a guest on “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”
Goodlatte’s office refused to confirm or deny whether he’d threatened such subpoenas, however, when asked earlier this week.
Strzok’s potential influence given his clear bias based on the anti-Trump text messages that recently became public has become a top priority of Republicans.
Here’s more:
Strzok was also integral in the FBI investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server to conduct government business. Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked Strzok to join his Russia investiation earlier this year — only to drop him like a hot potato when the agent’s prodigious texts came to light.
Jordan said the revelations of the last month demonstrate just how much the FBI and DOJ were opposed to Donald Trump becoming president.
Jordan added, “President Trump won in spite of the Republican establishment being against him, the Democrats being against him, the elite media being against him and the FBI and Justice Department being against him.”
